Man found guilty in landmark California fentanyl-related homicide case

A man has been found guilty of second-degree murder for the 2020 fentanyl related death of a 26-year-old woman in Temecula, marking the first such conviction in California history. According to a release from the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, Vicente David Romero, 34, "split" a pill containing fentanyl with Kelsey King on June 16, 2020. “During the five-day trial, the prosecution called ten witnesses to testify and showed body-worn camera footage in which Romero said he gave and split a pill known as a ‘blue’ or ‘M30’ with King, which he knew to contain fentanyl,” the Riverside County District Attorney’s office said. Police in Irvine have released surveillance footage of a man and a woman stealing several thousand dollars in merchandise from a Nordstrom earlier this week. The incident occurred on Aug. 28 at the Nordstrom in the Irvine Spectrum Center, located at 800 Spectrum Drive. Video of the theft shows the male suspect running through the store with an armload of merchandise, while the female suspect, also carrying stolen items, follows close behind. A short time later, the pair are seen running up a set of stairs toward their vehicle. The suspects then fled in a white Kia Forte, according to the Irvine Police Department. (KRON) -- The Emeryville Police Department is searching for someone believed to be involved in last weekend's stabbing. An image of the person of interest is included above. Hundreds of juveniles were involved in a brawl that started at the Bay Street Mall on Sunday, according to police. Several small fights broke out, and a juvenile victim was stabbed. Some very pretty kitties have been popping up, one after the other, in parks and private yards in Montgomery County, Maryland.About two weeks ago, groups of kittens were found along the Sligo Creek Trail, which runs through Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.
