A construction worker who was violently assaulted while working on a job site in Garden Grove last week remains hospitalized, and with police still looking for the suspects involved in the attack, the victim’s family is speaking out. The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. on June 20 in the 13800 block of Brookhurst Street, Garden Grove police Lt. Mario Martinez told KTLA. Carlos Ayala, the victim, had been working on an overnight painting project in a parking lot when the brutal beating took place. According to his daughter, Sara Ayala, her father and his coworker warned some people coming out of a nearby business not to walk in the work area, which prompted the assault. “They just said, ‘Can you guys not walk on there?’ and I guess that’s all it took for them to just flip out,” Sara told KTLA. “He got sucker punched and his coworker said he saw him fall to the floor. A family of four, including two toddlers, was hospitalized after being struck by a DUI driver in San Bernardino County.The suspects were identified as Yucca Valley residents Alvaro Rodriguez, 26, and Edilberto Solano Morales, 32, by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.On June 26, deputies received reports of a reckless driver near Santa Fe Trail and Fox Trail around 2:36 p.m.Arriving deputies discovered the suspects had crashed into an SUV carrying a family of four, causing the victims’ vehicle to roll over.The SUV was carrying a 2-year-old girl, a 4-year-old boy, a 27-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman, officials confirm.Arriving officers only found a "large plume of dust” and the suspect’s vehicle unoccupied at the time.Investigators later tracked down the suspects at a nearby residence. HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (KDVR) -- At Northridge Elementary in Highlands Ranch, the trash bags are beginning to pile up in a dumpster outside the school. The campus remains taped off as the district continues assessing damage following last week's tornado. "We do know that there were several classrooms that flooded," Renee Lewis said.
