DENVER (KDVR) -- If you've ever driven on Colorado roads, you have probably seen the signs that tell you to move over or slow down for emergency and maintenance vehicles, or for trucks putting on chains.Well, starting August 7, the law expands and you'll be required to move over and slow down for any vehicle with its hazard lights on.The new change is because HB 23-1123, which passed with bipartisan support in March and was signed into law soon after, will go into effect. What is the move over, slow down law?Essentially, when you see a vehicle on the side of the road that the law applies to, you have to move over so there's one lane of buffer between you and the vehicle. Colorado’s paid sick leave law will expand in August If you can't, you need to slow down to 20 mph or less if the speed limit is over 45 mph and 25 mph or less if the speed limit is under that.If you don't follow the law and are caught, you face a fine of up to $100 and may have DMV points added to your license, wh...Best Spots in Denver to beat the mid-July heat

A Coast Guard officer on Monday described a race to rescue four people over the weekend after a boat began sinking in Boston Harbor. The people were successfully taken out of the water and brought to Charlestown marina, where they were evaluated by paramedics, according to state police. Speaking with 7NEWS, though, Coast Guard Commander Kyle Coleman said the incident could have been much worse.Emergency crews responded around 5 p.m. Sunday after receiving a mayday broadcast from a boat that was taking on water off the north side of Peddocks Island in Boston Harbor, state police said in a statement on Sunday. After days of speculation, the Red Sox activated Pablo Reyes from the 10-day injured list on Monday morning, and optioned pitchers Justin Garza and Brandon Walter to Triple-A Worcester. The Red Sox waited as long as they could before making a decision about Reyes, whose rehab assignment expired on Sunday night. He’s out of options, so keeping him in the minors wasn’t on the table. But the predicament in which the Red Sox find themselves is much bigger than Reyes alone, and activating him is only a stopgap. They’re now carrying four middle infielders (Reyes, Christian Arroyo, Yu Chang, and Kiké Hernández) with only three middle infield roster spots.Justin Turner has also been playing some second base of late, as Alex Cora wants his offensive production as often as possible. Inadvertently, that decision has highlighted how much more successful the Red Sox can be when using certain players. They have to pare down this area of the roster almost immediately, as John Schreiber is slate...Ayotte announces gubernatorial bid, warns New Hampshire is becoming Massachusetts

Kelly Ayotte threw her hat into the gubernatorial ring on Monday, warning New Hampshire voters their state is on the cusp of becoming its liberal neighbor to the south.“I’m running for governor because New Hampshire is one election away from becoming Massachusetts – from becoming something we are not,” Ayotte said in announcing her bid. “I was born here and raised here. I raised my kids here, and you know what? I am going to die here because this state and its people are different. What we have here is worth fighting for.”Following Gov. Chris Sununu’s unexpected announcement last week he would not seek a fifth term as New Hampshire’s chief executive, Ayotte issued a not-so-veiled hint at a re-entry into politics. Her Monday campaign launch guarantees a primary contest for both major parties, with former Republican state Senate President Chuck Morse and a pair of Democrats already declared.Sununu’s exit from the...Yankees’ veterans starting to make strides at the plate

As Anthony Rizzo returned to the Yankees’ dugout following a home run on Sunday, his teammates initially gave him the silent treatment. It was a fitting response for a player whose quiet bat had not hit a home run in over two months.Rizzo produced a third-inning solo shot in a win over Kansas City for his first home run since May 20. The much-needed dinger was the highlight of Rizzo’s first four-hit game of the season. He also scored three runs, drove in two and hit a double.“It’s easy to look at it and say I’m drowning and I’m in the water, but I just kept saying I’m on the boat and just waiting for the winds to pick up and the sails to set,” said Rizzo, who hit .182/.274/.218 in the 45 games between longballs. “You’ve got to have fun with it. I think the reaction from the dugout and the guys shows that through a down [time], you’ve got to try to find highs as far as keeping yourself up, staying positive. You got to ...Latest news
