Luis Rubiales, the former president of Spain’s football federation, cannot go within 200 meters of footballer Jenni Hermoso, the player he controversially kissed after Spain’s World Cup victory last month, a judge ruled on Friday. During the World Cup celebrations in Australia last month, Rubiales gave Hermoso a non-consensual kiss on the lips, igniting widespread criticism about sexism in the industry and later leading to his resignation.“We continue to maintain that it was a non-consensual kiss,” Hermoso’s lawyer Carla Vall said Friday, according to local news reports after the judge’s decision. “The whole country, and the whole world, has been able to observe that there was no consent whatsoever, which is what we will also demonstrate in court,” the lawyer added. Vall added the “humiliating act” had “tarnished a sporting milestone,” overshadowing the victory of the Spanish Women’s football team.Rubiales, who ...

Ask a travel nerd: Why you shouldn’t bundle your travel

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 12:31:32 GMT

By Sally French | NerdWalletBundling is a practice popularized by third-party, online travel agencies, like Expedia, Priceline and Kayak, that encourages booking flights, hotels and rental cars in the same reservation. The option to bundle is also often offered through travel providers (such as when a popup surfaces on an airline’s website asking you to book a rental car, too).Travel is complicated enough, and bundling does not do anything to simplify it. In fact, it only makes it more complicated. Here’s why you should almost never bundle travel.Options are limitedBundling reduces your options to travel partners only. For example, Costco Travel does not currently offer flights with Southwest or Spirit Airlines — removing a large list of potential flights you might otherwise book.Similarly, Southwest Airlines encourages you to book a car with one of its eight car rental partners. The former justice, Republican David Prosser, gave $500 to the conservative candidate who lost to Protasiewicz, did not recuse from cases involving a law he helped pass as a lawmaker and was investigated after a physical altercation with a liberal justice.Prosser is one of three former justices tapped by the Republican Assembly speaker to investigate the criteria for taking the unprecedented step of impeaching a current justice. Speaker Robin Vos has floated impeachment because Protasiewicz accepted nearly $10 million from the Wisconsin Democratic Party and said during the campaign that heavily gerrymandered GOP-drawn legislative electoral maps were “unfair” and “rigged.”The impeachment threat comes after Protasiewicz’s win this s...
